A Note from Rachael

I'm writing for 10-year-old me.

Maybe for 10-year-old you too? Or your kids? The kids who walk into your library? Your grandkids? The kids down the street or in the homeschool co-op?

Books were some of my best friends. Reading felt powerful. Thrilling but safe.

Once upon a time, fifth-grade me perched on the school curb and pulled out a hardback copy of Mossflower. It was then I realized no stories were out of my reach. I could go anywhere. I could explore anything through fiction.

I’m a mom now. An author. A human on the humbling journey to become softer and more curious. And I’m realizing fiction is more powerful than I ever knew. The power to empathize, wonder, explore, and hear truths.

I'm finding so much life in words and worlds, and I'm so excited to share that same power with you!
